Coming Home

Hi guys,
We're on our way home. We are presently in the airport in Fiji waiting for our flight to L.A. This is the 2nd leg of our 4 leg trip back to Seattle. We left Sydney Tues. morning for Auckland, N.Z. where we spent the night. We got back to the airport this morning at 10:30 to catch our flight to Fiji. We arrived here at 4 pm and since our next flight (the one to L.A.) isn't leaving until almost 11 pm we thought we might have some time to leave the airport and go into town. As it turned out everyone's baggage was delayed due to lightening storms (they can't unload the baggage when there's lightening apparently) so we had to wait more than 2 hrs. for our bags. By the time we retrieved them and cleared customs and then rechecked our bags it was too late to try to go anywhere. So here we sit, writing this.
Doug posted a few pics. We have thoroughly enjoyed the trip and definitely plan to come back. It's almost time for us to board the plane so we will write more after we get home. We're looking forward to being home and seeing friends and family. We've missed you all.

Melbourne, Dec. 6th

G'day everyone. Have to make this short as I only have 15 min. of internet time left.
We are in Melbourne and enjoying the city (we have been avoiding big cities for the most part). We are scheduled to meet up with the former owners of our last boat (Discovery) tomorrow in St. Kilda-----a waterfront community in Melbourne. After that we will start heading back up the coast to Kiama where we have reservations at the Surf Beach Caravan Park on the 10th and 11th.
We fly to Auckland the morning of the 14th and back to Seattle on the 15th.
This has been an amazing trip. Now Doug is as enamored with Australia as Cathlyn and I think we will plan on coming back in another 2 yrs. or so and stay a bit longer so we can do all things we missed this trip.
Day before yesterday we went to a Highland gathering in Daylesford about an hour and 15 min. north of Melbourne. On the way back we took a detour to Hanging Rock (remember the movie "Picnic At Hanging Rock"?) It was based on a true story. It's a beautiful, mystical place. We hiked to the top where you are rewarded with an incredible view of the valley
We'll do another post and pics when we can. I'm out of time. Love to you all.
